Hello & Welcome!

My name is Angela and I am a Christmas addict! Yes, really. If there were Christmas anonymous meetings, well, no I wouldn’t go. I am not ashamed of my love for Christmas. They say children base their whole year around Christmas. I guess that makes me a child. Because really, my whole year revolves around it! No joke. I buy decorations all year, plan, shop for gifts etc. I do use a Christmas planner as well that I do use monthly, no, weekly throughout the year! Basically everything I do, I have Christmas on my mind. Are you judging me yet? I won’t be offended, I promise.

I wanted to share some of my absolute favorite traditions and activities for the Christmas season. So, sit back, grab a coffee or tea, and let me tell you all about what makes Christmas even more special for me and my family!

Decorations.

My family and I love to decorate! When it is time to decorate, lights, trees etc., the whole family is involved! We go big, maybe a little more each year. In fact, we are SO into Christmas and decorations that we have won holiday lights contests! It is absolutely our thing! We each pitch in and have our own little jobs to do. We laugh, sing Christmas songs and just get creative! It really is a Merry time to remember!

Popcorn.

This really goes along with decorating but, being we don’t do this at the same time that we do the stuff above, I will give it it’s own space on this list. We love to make cocoa and/or coffee and watch a Christmas movie while we string our popcorn! We like to pop it and then add some green and red food coloring. It’s a fun family activity and you’ve made an addition to your tree!

Christmas games.

A couple nights in the month of December, we have a game night. We play games like, Charades, Win Lose or Draw, Hangman etc. But everything is Christmas themed! During Charades we act out Christmas movies and songs, during Win Lose Or Draw we draw things Christmas related and so on. We usually have chili and yes, cinnamon rolls! It makes for a fun night to remember!

Cards.

My family enjoys making our own cards. No, I don’t mean on the computer and printing them. I mean we actually do it the old way, construction paper, scissors, stickers, lace, buttons etc. Any kind of art and craft supplies we can find. Get creative! People will really appreciate the heart and thought that went into their card!

The Candy Cane dance.

This is something that I thought up a few years back and it quickly became a family favorite! On Christmas Eve we have a dance where we change partners throughout. Before we start, we give everyone a candy cane, one has a ribbon attached to it, when we switch partners, we switch candy canes. So, we will switch partners several times throughout, whoever has the special candy cane at the end gets the present! The present doesn’t need to be big; we usually do like a box of candy or a little blanket etc. It really is so much fun!

Cookie decorating party.

When we make our sugar cookies, we like to decorate them as a family. Instead of everyone just decorating their own cookies, we mix it up a bit. We will each start with a cookie and put something on them, eyes or buttons etc. Then, we stop and say “switch”, and we slide our cookies to the person on the left and they add whatever they want to the cookie, and you add whatever you want to add to the cookie you get! And we keep switching until all cookies are complete. It’s really fun to see how the cookies will turn out and laughs are guaranteed! It’s just such a fun and enjoyable way to have family time together!

Christmas stockings.

This is my favorite! Now, I like to hang stockings for Christmas morning in the living room by the tree, however, on the night before Christmas Eve, we each have a special stocking that we hang at the foot of our beds. When we wake up Christmas Eve morning, we each have a small gift! But we don’t open them. You can choose to keep your gift or, trade with someone else. And you can trade as many times as you’d like throughout the day. At the end of the night, we open the gifts we end up with! So much fun!

Guys, I have so many things that I love to do for the Christmas season. I could go on and on! However, I will save some for another time!

How do you spend your holidays? I would love to know your favorite traditions as well! Drop them in the comments for us!

I hope you all have a fantastic & Merry Christmas!!

All my love,

Angela xoxo
