Creepy & spooky, I love throwing Halloween parties! Let’s discuss, shall we?

Halloween is one of my very favorite holidays! If you’re here reading this, chances are you are wanting to throw a Halloween party and you are searching for ideas. If you are wanting a party that’s fun but not too scary for the younger kiddos, and still spooky, you’ve come to the right place! I’m gonna go over some ideas with you that will have the kids saying Boo!

Invites

The invites are what are gonna decide the fate of your party! The more people the better. Make the invites pop! I always make my own.

I like to either tea dye or coffee dye printer paper! It gives it an aged, vintage look. (It’s really beautiful!) If you are into handwriting, you can write your invitations by hand and then copy them if you’d like. If not, create the invitation on the computer and print them off on the dyed paper. Add cute Halloween pictures and designs! Voila! You’ve got some great custom invites! If you wanted to go the extra mile, you could also dye the envelopes!

*Be sure to mention wearing a costume!*

Snacks

Ok, when it comes to Halloween themed snacks, this is your chance to get creative! Throw some spiders in the water before you make the ice cubes or/and some red food coloring. Food coloring is my favorite item in the kitchen! Yes, really. My family, more so my husband, always jokes about my food coloring.

If you need ideas, there are SO MANY cute ones out there! Here are a few! I love the witch hat cupcakes!

Games & Activities

Now to games and activities. You want your guests to have a fun, memorable time. Here are a few games and activities that will make that happen!

Apple bobbing.

I also mentioned this in my Fall For the Family post. (Check that one out here. —> Fall for the Family – Thriftysnowflakemom)

Apple bobbing is such a fun activity, especially if you have a big group of kids together. Just make sure you have some towels near by, it will get crazy!

Pumpkin painting.

Painting pumpkins is a great way for the kiddos to get super creative! Depending how many kids you have at your party, you could get small or large pumpkins. It’s just up to you how much you want to spend. (Unless you have a friend with a pumpkin patch!!)

Set up a table covered with a plastic tablecloth, and set the pumpkins out along with paints and brushes for each child. They will love it! Later set all the pumpkins in the yard or what have you, and take pictures of all the kids in their little painted pumpkin patch!

Scavenger hunt.

This will take some time to plan but it will be so worth it! Print out a list, divide into groups, and let them run and get tired lol! This is a great activity. Whichever group gets the most items, let them choose the next activity! Or, if you want to do prizes you could do that too. I personally don’t do prizes, but if you do prizes, I would recommend prizes for other things as well and give everyone the chance to win something. 😉 Especially if they are younger kiddos.

Witch hat ring toss.

Line up some witch hats spaced however you would like, and give the kids rings made from paper plates. Have them take turns trying to ring the hats! You can also put glowsticks in the tops of the hats and give them glowstick rings, turn the lights out or go outside after the sun goes down to make it even more fun.

Pumpkin tic tac toe.

Grab you some mini pumpkins, some duct tape or sticks, and create a tic tac toe game! (Or hey, even glow sticks!) Let all the kiddos take turns playing each other throughout the night!

You could even use the pumpkins they painted earlier if they are dry!

Face painting.

If you’re talented and want to take the time to do it, (or if you have a friend that does it) this would be great for the kiddos! Face painting is always a big hit. Set up a “booth” and let the kids take turns having their face painted!

You may wanna do this one AFTER the apple bobbing! 🙂

(A couple ideas: pumpkins, ghosts, cats etc.)

Decorations

Now last but certainly not least, we’ll talk about decorations, my favorite part! I know they just sit there, but they create the whole party! They set the mood. Invest!! There are tons of DIYs out there! And you can buy in bulk from Dollar Tree! 😉

I would suggest a lot of spider webs! They are cheap and they go a long way. Not to mention they look awesome! Don’t forget spiders and bugs to throw in the webs! Even leaves from your yard!

If you feel like it, decorate outside too and give your guests a spooky welcome! Create a small cemetery, throw some big spiders on the lawn with some spider webs! You could even create a maze that your guests have to get through to get to your door!

1000's of Wall Murals to choose from!

And that, my friends, is how you throw an amazing Halloween party! You will be known as the party lady after this and the kids will be looking forward to the next one! (be prepared!)

All these activities should get the kids good and tired so you can get some rest, Mom.

I hope I was able to give you some good ideas! I always tell you guys, if you have ideas or tips that you wouldn’t mind sharing, please do so. I love hearing from you!!

Until next time!

All my love,

Angela xoxo
