With one of my child’s birthday’s coming up, I figured I would share some ideas for birthday parties that kids will love! I’ve got a twenty-one, eighteen, and three year old! So I have had quite the birthdays! Not to mention, husband’s birthdays, parents, friends etc.
Party planning and decorating are kind of my things! I love to put on parties! I’ve considered becoming a professional event planner. We will see what the future holds. 🙂
The Pumpkin Patch
One of my favorite parties was the year we went to the pumpkin patch! It was my son’s eleventh birthday and we decided on the pumpkin patch, it was October anyway! So they were just opening good for the season. That being said, we had hundreds of pumpkins to choose from! We got to hop a hayride out to the patch to pick our pumpkins off the vine. That alone was fantastic! So many sizes and colors, and the kids thought it was so awesome to literally pick their pumpkins themselves.
They had our tables decorated with pumpkins, gourds etc. and it was off to the side so we were secluded from the daily crowd.
We also got to go down a huge slide! Which was scary yet tons of fun! Here is a picture of yours truly going down the slide. Just like a kid ha!
Love how my hair is flying back. If I had this much fun, imagine how much the kids loved it!
Then of course they had an area where you could feed the animals. They had chickens, goats, calves and pigs. Not to mention the zipline and bounce houses! Seriously such a fun time. I highly recommend a pumpkin patch for your child’s party. You won’t regret it!
Spa Party
One for the girls! I love having spa parties! Invite your daughter’s girlfriends over and let them enjoy being pampered!
Set out a robe, pedicure slippers, nail files, polish, face masks etc. for each girl. Let them sit back and relax while they get their nails done. You can do their nails or the girls can take turns. Whatever works for you! If you have a foot spa at home, let them take turns for 10 minutes with their feet in the water!
The girls love it, they feel so special!

Teddy Bear Sleepover
If you don’t already know this about me, I adore teddy bears! I always have, they are just the cutest! Which is why this next one is my favorite! 🙂
The next party idea, is the Teddy Bear Sleepover! This one is for the younger ones. Send out an adorable invitation and let everyone know to bring their sleeping bags and pillows!
I would recommend ordering some bears online to have them there for the girls, that way you can go ahead and get the clothes and blankets as well! I order from Dollar Tree because you can order in bulk!
And of course if you wanted to change it up and have the girls bring their own bears and blankets you could do that. But I would recommend having a few extras just incase someone forgets!
The bears are our guests of honor!
You will want the bears or other animals to have pajamas laid out with little blankets. Have the girls get them in their PJ’s and let the party begin!
Let the girls have a tea party and watch teddy cartoons and movies! (Paddington Bear would be an excellent choice!)
*In the morning you can make an adorable teddy bear breakfast! Check out the pictures below!*
Circus party
This can be for boys and girls of all ages! We did a circus theme for my son’s 13th birthday!
I had a photo booth set up with different photo props, we had the bounce house up, food! This one was so much fun!
For the food, I had three tables set up with hotdogs, chips, a bowl of circus peanuts, boxes of cracker jacks, red, yellow and orange cupcakes etc!
Anything that was circus themed I tried to add in there. I had red and yellow napkins, forks and spoons as well.
At the “photo booth” I had gotten a couple of red table cloths from Dollar Tree and hung them on my shed like a little booth. On the inside were a couple of chairs and there were a couple of baskets with different photo props. And for the background I taped up strips of tickets!
When it had gotten dark we had the set up the movie screen outside and watched a movie with the projector! Lots of fun that day!!
Nerf Gun Party
I know there are some young men out there that would love this idea!
Get several guns, place them all on a table outside and let the boys choose their guns. Also, don’t forget the nerf darts! Set out big bowl of darts where they can come back and refill their ammo!
You can also go the extra mile and add some camo face paint and some “vests” to keep extra darts in.
Set up a few hay bales, boxes, etc. where they can hide from the other boys! Might wanna check on things every once in a while if you’re not going to be out there with them and make sure they aren’t getting too rough! Boys will be boys!!
Costume Party
The last party I want to mention is a costume party! The kids go bonkers, they love to dress up. You could send the invitations and tell them to arrive in a costume or you could supply costumes! Whichever you decide. Supplying costumes can be a little pricey but that way you could guarantee that everyone will be dressed up.
**If money is an issue, you can get costumes at Dollar Tree!!**
One activity you could try is you could have the kids sit in two lines facing each other, and have them make up names for the person across from them! After they have names they could tell a story. Have one person start with a sentence or two, and then the next child and so on and so on! They get a kick out of that.
Make sure you have some photo props so they can take fun photos!
Are there any parties that you have had that your little one enjoyed more than others? Let us all know by leaving them in comments! What was your favorite party to throw? I would love hear them and your ideas!
Also, let me know which of these ideas you liked the best or least and why! 🙂 Will you be trying any of these?
I appreciate you being here and taking the time to read my blog! Thank you! 🙂
Until next time, friends!
All my love,
Angela xoxo
